Giclee print from an original watercolor painting
San Simeon Beach, also known as William Randolf Hearst State Beach, is located on the central California coast just north of Cambria. The beach is directly below Hearst's Castle on highway 1. The entire area is steeped in a rich history. It's also one of my favorite places to paint. The buildings in the painting are actually the old WR Hearst warehouses where he would store his collection of antiques before bringing them up the hill to the castle. The beautiful little beach is not really on the tourist's radar like the more popular beaches further south, so it's usually always peaceful and quiet. Many times I've been the only one there!
"San Simeon Beach" is reproduced from an original watercolor painting by David J Rogers. Using today’s latest Giclee printing technology, each print is individually created with archival inks on watercolor paper to look and feel just like the original, and has a projected lifespan of 80 years if protected against direct sunlight. The artwork is individually printed on order, and is inspected and hand signed by the artist.
